Who we are?
The Longevity Foundation
The Longevity Foundation, established in 2021, aims to promote four crucial areas of our society – education, research, the social determinants of health, and mental health.
Education is targeted because it is directly linked to health and longevity; Studies have shown that higher levels of education are correlated with better health and longer life expectancy. Research, particularly in these designated areas (mental health, geriatrics, dementia and neurology) has not demonstrated conclusive results and requires substantial long-term investments to improve available treatments. At the same time, the Foundation promotes artificial intelligence in medicine, with the promise of improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare. By investing in this sector, the Foundation hopes to increase the volume and quality of care provided, while fostering the breakthrough of new scientific discoveries.
The social determinants of health, such as community integration and access to health services, are critical to ensuring equity and effectiveness of care. Through its initiatives, the Foundation aims to improve social inequalities and the autonomy of individuals. Finally, mental health is a priority area given the continued growth of mental illness in our current society in Canada. The Foundation focuses its efforts on reducing psychological distress and improving mental health care.
The main investments at the social level are made through recognized community organizations, and in the health field, through recognized hospitals, research centers, and health professionals.
So, by focusing on these key areas, the Longevity Foundation seeks to optimize primary care and shape a more robust and equitable health care system.
